I just had to...

I just had to post a few more pics. Those 5 lil' pics from before just were not cuttin' it...

We spent a lot of time in and around the pool area. As you can see, there is really great scenery. I just wish I would have posed for the picture...

This is the view from the back patio of the hotel looking out onto the sea.

This is the lobby of the Gran Caribe Real in Cancun where we stayed. It is kind of dark in the pic, but very vast. Lots of space, couches, granite and friendly people who are very excited that you are staying with them! Lots of tropical plants all around as well...

We can't wait to go back. Will YOU be going with us? The More the Merrier, right? How cool would it be if this became an annual trip and it got bigger and bigger each year? WoW, I may need to become a part time travel agent. Would that mean discounts?!?! Wink Wink...

Best Vacation...

We are in the midst of saying bye bye to the month of January! It seems like the older I get the quicker time moves. Are we living for today? I don't want to wake up 21 years from now and realize that I never lived life...

Taylor and I are back from our 5 days in Cancun, Mexico! We went south with two of our favorite couple friends that live in Killeen. I have attached a few pics for your viewing pleasure.

We left San Antonio on Thursday morning at 10 flying on Mexicana Air and were checking into our hotel by 4. It was such a great travel experience. Mexicana Air is still giving meals and free 'drinks' on planes! WoW, what a treat!

The hotel was gorgeous and we got settled into our rooms immediately. We all met downstairs for dinner and decided where we shall go. Now, we did one of these All Inclusive deals. Have you heard of these things? We won't do anything but this from here on out! So we chose to eat Sushi the first night. There were 5 different restaurants at the hotel that we could eat at for 'free.' I ate over $100 in sushi the first night we got to Cancun! We tore that place up. We TOTALLY got our monies worth.

We didn't do any excursions this go round, but rather sat by the pool and read our books or participated in the hourly activities that went on all day... Anything from Spanish Lessons to hair braiding to a bike tour to water aerobics and much much more! It was like a Young Life camp for adults. And the best part about it was that I didn't have to LEAD ANYTHING!!! I could participate if I wanted or ignore everyone if I wanted. Now THAT'S a vacation...

Underneath our hotel was a bar in the sand and out of the wind. We were waiting for our Sushi table to be ready so we went exploring. We found this place and it had couches and chairs all over along with beds! There were swings on one side of the bar which I thought was really unique...

Downstairs in lobby of hotel. There is no front door. It is all completely open. So Big and So Beautiful! This was our first night in Cancun...

This is day 2...our first full day in Mexico. The water was so blue!

Upon arrival in Cancun. We have NO idea what we are in for...

We got many laughs trying to figure out how to fill out our Immigration Forms and Declaration Form. Taylor is pictured here filling out her FIFTH form... well, it's the same form, this is just her fifth try! I messed up several times as well. It was rather hilarious! And frustrating. Come to find out, the customs deal was not as intense as we were anticipating. I'm just gonna make a photo copy of mine for next year!

Gosh! What a wonderful way to start off a year. That is what you call total relaxation. We also got to order room service up to 3 times a day. Who doesn't love Breakfast In Bed?
The hardest part of the whole thing was coming home and back to reality! But we are so very glad we are back and loving people for His Kingdom...

This ones for you, Pookie...

Welcome to my first blog of 2010!

Can you believe that it is here already? I remember the big Hoopla when we were entering Y2K... Remember how the world was going to fall apart, planes were gonna fall from the sky and every computer since the Commodore 64 were going to blow up in your face, light your home on fire and make your car quick running?

WoW! We've come a long way...

Since we are here, did you make any New Years Resolutions? I like to think of them more as goals rather than resolutions. I am more apt to break a resolution than a goal. A goal is permanent. A resolution was made to be broken.

I am trying to get into 'Cancun shape' as Taylor would call it. We are heading to Cancun in the near future with two other couples and I am gonna try to be in tip-top shape for the beach. I am 36 hours in and feel GREAT! Just Kidding... We started being more disciplined the day after Christmas and I have actually kept it up. I am becoming more aware of what I eat. I am running fairly regular (which means more than NEVER!) and doing some crunches as well as some arm workouts. It does feel great to exercise, doesn't it? I am always amazed at why I don't do it more often. No Time. No Energy. Undisciplined! Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazy!!! That is really what it ALL boils down to. We are just LAZY! Plain and Simple..

Taylor and I are extremely excited about our trip to Cancun. We are doing one of those 'all inclusive' resorts. You pay one fee and then it is all you can eat or drink while you are there. I hope to eat some REALLY great food while we are down there. I do NOT want to encounter Mantezuma in any form or fashion! Have you done one of these trips before? Got pointers / suggestions? If so, please pass them on to us...

Our Christmas and New Years was great. It was wonderful to be home and rest for a little bit. We did not travel although we had tons of people stay with us throughout the holidays. Taylor and I enjoy having people in our home.

I stayed up late and slept in several days in a row. I got a Clive Cussler (my favorite author) book for Christmas and finished it in a week. I stayed up until 4:30 one morning reading this book. It was very engaging. I LOVE books like that. Rumor has it that he has another new one out. I think I may go get it for our trip down South!

Life moves quickly. If you don't watch it, you will look up one day and we will be 25 years down the road. Be intentional with THIS day. Pray that God would use YOU for HIS Kingdom...

Bless You.
